We are Ray and Lee Parker of Southern River Western Australia, and we own “Tintookie” Pointer and Irish Red and White Setter kennels. We also own successful boarding kennels, namely Early Bird Boarding Kennels that are run by Ray.
We have owned and shown Gundogs since 1964 and have been members of the Victorian Canine Association for over 45 years and the Canine Association of Western Australia for over fifteen years. Lee has her Group Three Championship Judges Licence for all Gundogs and also for Group One (Toys). She is currently a trainee judge for Group Two (terriers) Group Six (Utility) and Group Seven (Non Sporting. Lee has judged throughout Australia and New Zealand and also judged a Pointer and Setter Dog Match in the United Kingdom. We were both heavily involved in dog administration in Victoria for many years. Being founding committee members of the now defunct Pointer Club of Victoria Inc from its conception in 1989. In fact Lee was foundation Secretary and held that position for many years prior to moving to the West. She was granted Life Membership of the Club in 1992. The only person to be given this honour before the club folded in 1996. Since moving to Western Australia Lee has been Treasurer of Oriental Breeds Dog Club, both of us have been on the committee of Fremantle Dog Club and Lee was Secretary of the Gundog Club of WA Inc., for many years and has been the Secretary of the Spaniel and Setter Club for the last seven years..
On the dog front, since arriving here, we have continued showing our Pointers and have achieved success in the West with the Pointers, Ch. Tintookie Jazz Dancer, Ch. Tintookie Gym Sticks, Ch. Tintookie Witch N Famous, Ch. Tintookie Julius Caesar, Ch. Tintookie ThBitch isBrown, Ch. Barragan Calvin Klein,Ch. Tintookie What About Me, Ch.Tintookie Fames Fortune , Ch. Tintookie Mrs Santa Paws and more recently the multi winning Best In Group and Class in Show winner as well as a Best Exhibit in Show Winner all before she is two and a half years old the very talented Ch. Tintookie What’s in a Name, her litter sister Ch. Tintookie Make a Point as well as her half brother and sister Ch. Tintookie Strike The Poise and Ch. Tintookie Look But Don’t Touch the latter being owned and loved by Aeam and Jane Herps.
Pointer “Exports”to the East who have done well in recent years include: – Ch. Tintookie Top That, Ch. Tintookie Such Is Life, Ch. And Obedience Champion Tintookie The Apprentice UD, Ch. Tintookie Black Russian, Ch. Tintookie Black Magic, Ch. Tintookie Tinsel, Ch. Tintookie by Candlelight and Ch. Tintookie Fairytale.
Since adding Irish Red and White Setters to our kennels we have done exceptionally well with our boy “Bennie” Grand Ch. Truestone Kiwi Supreme (Imp NZ) the only IRWS in the Southern Hemisphere to gain his Grand Champion title with multi best exhibit in group awards and Best Exhibit in show,and his litter sister Ch. Truestone Kiwi Export (Imp NZ). Bennie’s children Ch. Tintookie I Set The Style and Ch. Tintookie WannaBe Queenbehave done extremely well in the showring well in the showring.
Recently we have imported the lovely young boy “Devlin” Aust. Ch. Truloy an American Down Under at Tintookie (Imp USA) and he will very shortly be joined by “Guinness” Moonstone Export Down Under to Tintookie (Imp USA). “Devlin’s” first children have arrived – see our puppy page – and for more news on this breed see our section on Irish Red and White Setters.
