Wingdari Australian Kelpie Stud

Celebrating thirty years of being involved with our beloved Australian Kelpie. We are very proud of the results that the dogs have achieved. From very limited showing, the dogs have won some great awards. We have also have Wingdari Kelpies out with their owners doing agility and obedience. Craig and Robyn Foster took “Clancy” to a number of shows and attained his Grand Champion Title. Thank you Craig and Robyn. What I am really proud of is that, because of health issues which I have had now for the past ten years, my dogs are handled by so many different people – depending on the show and where it is located. It is very hard for me not to be able to handle my own dogs, after so many years of showing them myself, but have had to learn to accept what has happened. I now just enjoy the time with my dogs at the shows, meeting friends and just being able to be there on the day and am truely grateful for all the wonderful people that help me. My dogs can be handled by anyone that is kind and gentle and can even be handled by children. This is a testament to the dogs soundness and temperament of which I am very proud. My Kelpies do not go out to the show ring every weekend for a number of reasons. They spend a great deal of their time out on the property running, playing and just being dogs. The dogs used to share their paddocks with our old Arabian mare “Twiggy”. Sadly “Twiggy” passed away towards the end of 2013 at the age of 26 years. We all miss her so very much. In 2012 we only attended six shows – two of these shows being Canberra Royal winning Best of Breed, class in Group Canberra with a Puppy Dog with “Dusty” and at Sydney Royal 2012 – Challenge Bitch & BOB “Becky”, Challenge Dog & RUBOB “Clancy”. “Becky” then went on to win Third Best Exhibit In The Working Dog Group (564 entries). “Becky” has won the Challenge Bitch at Sydney Royal on four occasions and Reserve Ch. and RUBOB out of five shows. We also have achieved at Sydney Royal “Best Exhibit In Show Breeders Group” now three times 2008, 2009 and 2014 on four occasions “Best Breeder In The Working Dog Group” 2008, 2009 2012 and 2014. These were great wins for the Australian Kelpie Team and their handlers. The other major wins are “Becky” winning Best In Shows at the Australian Kelpie Speciality Show September 2012 then again Easter 2014 and September 2014. Becky now has three Best Exhibit In Show Speciality wins to her credit. The other two shows that we attended were to obtain two final Challenges for Supreme Gr. Aust. Ch. Wingdari Swaga Chaos “Chaos” and Supreme Gr. Aust. Ch.Wingdari Bush Xmas “Chelsea” to gain their Supreme Titles. On each of the days Chaos and Chelsea took their turn at winning BOB to finish off the Supreme Title and the other winning RUBOB. This year 2014 at Canberra Royal we took five dogs and won Challenge Dog with “Bundy” and Best of Breed, Res.Ch.Dog with “Clancy”, Challnge Bitch and Runner Up Best of Breed with “Becky”. The other dogs brought home ribbons – “Jessie” winning her Junior Bitch Class and then Junior of Breed. “Chelsea” and “Chaos” their two daughters from the last litter – “Nikki” (owned by Megan Kain – Jevna Australian Kelpies) won lst Baby Puppy Bitch and Baby of Breed and her sister “Maggie” came 2nd in the Baby Puppy Bitch Class. In all a great day. Sydney Royal 2014 and The Australian Kelpie Speciality Show all the results and photographs are on the news page. Lots of photographs to put up with the results. The most exciting and one of the high lights of working with my Kelpies was being nominated by the Domestic Animal Section, Royal Agricultural Society of NSW at the Sydney Royal Show 2014 and awarded “Champion of Champions”. Thank you to the Domestic Animal Section and to the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW for this great honour it is certainly a day that I will treasure all my life.
The Australian Kelpie is the most true and honest dog – “what you see is what you get”, the “Icon of the Outback”, the “Aussie legend” and the one and only true Australian sheepdog. Both here and overseas the Australian Kelpie is in high demand for working, agility, obedience, herding, confirmation ring, tracking but most of all a family pet, a true and devoted mate and best friend. If you would like any further information or help regarding the Australian Kelpie please do not hesitate to contact me by my email and I will only be too pleased to help you.
