Stickeen was a small, scrappy terrier who accompanied renowned naturalist John Muir on a perilous journey through the Alaskan wilderness in 1880. Despite his size, Stickeen proved to be an invaluable companion, alerting Muir to danger and providing much-needed companionship during their arduous trek. Their adventure together was later immortalized in Muir’s book, “Stickeen: The Story of a Dog.”
