My name is Lynda Trotter and I have been breeding Belgian Shepherd Dogs under the Belgenbeau Prefix for almost 30 years (also in partnership under the Belquente, Allianse and Laekinoz prefixs). Belgenbeau Kennels owns and breeds all four varieties of Belgian Shepherd – Malinois , Laekenois, Tervueren, Groenendael.
We breed for the improvement of the breed, not as a business to make money. While we have on the rare occassion bred up to 4 litters in a year, it becomes difficult to give the puppies the attention they each need as individuals, to go on to make balanced companions. We usually limit our litters raised by us to 2 in a year, sometimes less or none. If we do not have a litter planned, we will do our best to guide you in finding the most suitable puppy from another reputable and responsible breeder.
Our motto is…
Beauty (consistent specialty winners),
Bounce (our breeding pairs are chosen for their health and that of their forebears) &
Brains (we choose for temperament and character as much as for type)
We made a commitment to this breed almost 30 years ago, a commitment which is stronger than ever.
In return we are rewarded by the amazing character of the Belgian Shepherd … once you have lived with a Belgian – you will never be the same! 🙂
I currently judge Group 5 at Championship level and Groups 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 & 7 at Open Show level. I am also a Belgian Breed Specialist judge and while I love the All Breeds Shows, my true love is the Specialty Shows which are held in 4 states annually. Each year we show our best against the best and have always been very pleased with the results our dogs have gathered for us.
We work closely with a number of other breeders throughout Australia and Overseas, people who share the same goals and ideals for the breed as we do.
We have imported from Belgium, Hungary, Portugal and the US. We have exported to New Zealand, Fiji, Tahiti, Hawaii, USA, Hong Kong, indonesia and Malaysia.
While this kennel has achieved many ‘first’s’ over the past 28 years, we would rather advertise what we do ‘consistently’ and that is to breed healthy happy and typical Belgian Shepherd Dogs.

This breed is similar in many ways to the German Shepherd Dog, however Belgian breed enthusiasts will tell you this breed is far better than their German cousins for many reasons. You decide.
