The Basenji is another breed of dogs in the hunting category of canines. They originated in Africa and are known for their hunting skills of being able to not only point to the prey being hunted or retrieve it once killed, but they are also able to chase game into nets and then keep the game entrapped until the hunter arrives.

Dachshunds originated in Germany sometime in the early 17th century. They are renowned for their bravery and versatility especially when hunting. They were bred specifically to hunt small animals such as rabbits and badgers because their short legs helped them to follow animals underground and fit inside the burrows easily.
